Grandfather’s Cabin (Papanmökki)

Grandfather’s Cabin is located in a beautiful quiet place at the end of a spit. Only the screams of loons and red-necked grebes sometimes disturb the tourists.  

Grandfather’s Cabin was built and designed by the carpenter Olavi Viiru, and its first project is preserved in a red leather folder. When, in the early 1990s, grandfather Yurjö passed away, the cabin was converted for rent and was named Niemelä. This name, however, did not take root and the house is still called Grandfather’s Cabin.

The clear waters of Lake Korpijärvi are rich in fish and fishing will be memorable for both big and small fishermen.
